Biography

Dr. Stephanie Rohmann is an associate at the Dispute Resolution Practice Group at Baker McKenzie's Vienna office, focusing on international arbitration and commercial litigation. She is experienced with disputes in the energy, pharmaceutical, technology, construction and real estate sectors, with a particular focus on post-M&A, corporate, insolvency and complex contractual matters. She is known for her strategic approach to complex proceedings, her rigorous procedural expertise and her ability to deliver high-quality work products – qualities that domestic and international clients have come to rely on.

Stephanie holds a PhD from the University of Innsbruck, where she also served as Research and Teaching Assistant at the Department of Civil Procedure Law. She has conducted research stays at the Max Planck Institutes in Luxembourg and Hamburg and at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, and gained experience at the ICC International Court of Arbitration in Paris and at leading international law firms in London and Vienna.

Prior to her current role, she served as Legal Counsel to the Executive Board of Austria Wirtschaftsservice (aws), one of Austria's largest public business development banks. Her doctoral thesis on the withdrawal of claims in domestic and international arbitration proceedings has received multiple awards and will be published with “Verlag Österreich”.

Stephanie is co-chair of the Young Austrian Arbitration Practitioners (YAAP) and serves as ICC Young Arbitrators Forum Regional Representative for Europe & Central Asia (mandate 2024-2026).

Practice Focus

With nearly a decade of experience, Stephanie has represented a broad range of domestic and international clients in arbitration proceedings administered under major institutional rules – including ICC, VIAC and UNCITRAL – and before Austrian state courts. Her practice focuses on complex corporate and post-M&A disputes, as well as restructuring and insolvency-related litigation. She has acted for clients across the energy, pharmaceutical, construction, technology and real estate sectors, with a growing focus on disputes with a CEE dimension.
